Coin Details:
- Coins are composed of a core of pure copper and an outer layer of 77% copper, 12% zinc, 7% manganese, and 4% nickel.
- The James Buchanan Dollar will be issue for circulation and as collectible proof and uncirculated coins issued by the United States Mint.
- Circulation release date is currently scheduled for August 19, 2010.
- The edge of the coin includes incused lettering which indicates the year of issue, mint mark, and motto “E Pluribus Unum”.
Where to Find:
- The coins will be released into circulation beginning August 19, 2010.
- The collectible versions will be included in annual sets and special products offered by the United States Mint.
- The Mint will also issue offer 25-coin rolls of circulation strike coins to collectors.
