- Depiction of Liberty originally used on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar designed by Adolph A. Weinman and issued for circulation from 1916 to 1945.
- Liberty is pictured walking towards the left with the sun rising before her. One hand is outstretched and the other holds an olive branch. A flag is draped around her shoulders and billows in the wind.
Reverse:
- Heraldic Eagle with Shield. Thirteen stars appear above. The Eagle’s talons grasp an olive branch and bundle of arrows.
- Designed by John Mercanti.
Coin Details:
- The 2010 Silver Eagles are struck with a composition of .999 fine silver with the balance copper. Each coin contains 1.000 Troy ounce of silver.
- The weight, content, and purity of each coin is guaranteed by the United States government.
- Traditionally, the coins have been issued in a bullion version with collectible proof and uncirculated versions. In the prior year the collectible versions of the coins were canceled.
Where to Find:
- The bullion version of the 2010 American Silver Eagle is distributed by the United States Mint through a network of authorized purchasers. They purchase the coins in bulk and resell them to other precious metals dealers, coin dealers, and the public.
- When issued, the collectible proof and uncirculated versions of the Silver Eagle are sold directly to the public by the United States Mint.

History:
- The Silver Eagle has been issued as a bullion coin each year since 1986. Collectible proof versions have been issued each year from 1986 to 2008. Collectible uncirculated versions have been issued from 2006 to 2008.
- The 2010 Silver Eagle bullion coins were first available to the United States Mint’s authorized purchasers on January 19, 2010.
- The US Mint has not provided any information regarding the status collectible versions of the coin for 2010.
- The 2011 Silver Eagle will be released on January 3, 2011.
